Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the selection of 24 Indian space tech startups for its 14-week Space Accelerator programme, which will provide specialized technical training and mentoring from space tech experts. This initiative follows AWS's 2023 MoU with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe) to support the growth of space startups in India.
“This is the fourth consecutive year for the AWS Space Accelerator program, but the first focused on a single country,” said Clint Crosier, director of the Aerospace and Satellite business at AWS. “We chose India for this program due to the significant growth opportunities in its space sector. India has a record number of new space startups, strong government support as shown by our MoU with ISRO and IN-SPACe, and some of the world's most educated and proficient technical talent. We are excited to see many talented space startups participate in this program,” Crosier added.
