Thieves attempting to rob a finance company office in Mohali accidentally leave an ID card behind.

Police reported that burglars broke into Muthoot Finance’s office in Phase 2, Mohali, by accessing it from an adjacent under-construction SCO, after breaking through the common wall using iron tools and a gas cutter. A manhunt has been launched for two suspects who tried to rob the office in the early hours of Sunday. Although the burglars fled due to advanced security measures and a quick police response, they left behind an Aadhaar card, identifying one suspect as Hari Swarankar, a laborer from Sahibganj, Jharkhand, who had been working at the nearby construction site.

According to the police, the branch manager, Amit Soran, was alerted at 1:48 a.m. by the Delhi branch’s security head after the alarms went off and the CCTV cameras stopped functioning. Soran contacted the police, who arrived at the scene and discovered the broken wall. Inside the under-construction SCO, they found a screwdriver, iron rods, a gas cutter, and a bag containing Swarankar’s Aadhaar card.
