The Government of Punjab has recognized and honored four women-led startups from the Golden Jubilee Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) for their outstanding contributions to Punjab's innovation landscape and their significant societal impact. The startups include MKelly Biotech Private Limited, led by Dr. Vipasha Sharma, recognized for healthcare innovations; Gauri’s Skin Care Private Limited, founded by Dr. Gauri Jemurgen, awarded for developing a biomass-based natural sunscreen with anti-aging and anti-cancer properties; Kreatekit, an initiative by Pooja Kaushik, noted for innovative crochet and fiber-based products; and Sakhiyaan, a social enterprise by Nancy Bhola, which empowers marginalized women, weavers, and artisans in rural Punjab to create sustainable products from textile waste. Dr. P.K. Pati, the coordinator of the Centre, mentioned that these startups are registered with the GNDU incubation center and have received support through various state government schemes. The Centre currently hosts 40 startups working on innovative technologies, with many receiving seed funding from the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology and Startup Punjab. Dr. Pati also highlighted that the Centre has built a strong network of mentors, ecosystem enablers, investors, and industry partners to support these ventures.
