When Apple Vision Pro debuted in stores earlier this month, the company announced that more than 600 apps tailored for the new headset would be accessible on day one via the visionOS App Store. However, Apple has now confirmed that the number of apps specifically developed for Vision Pro has exceeded 1,000. Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice president of marketing, shared this news on X, expressing gratitude to developers for their dedication in pushing the limits of what Vision Pro can achieve. While the visionOS App Store boasts over 1.5 million apps in total, a vast majority are iPad apps running in compatibility mode. Despite Apple highlighting significant apps like Disney+, NBA, and HBO Max with immersive experiences, some key apps such as Netflix, Spotify, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok are notably absent from the visionOS App Store. This gap is attributed to developers' decisions to withhold their iPadOS apps from Vision Pro users.
