The Center has introduced the '100 Cube' initiative with the aim of supporting the establishment of a hundred startups, each with a valuation of ₹100 crore, in the state by 2036, coinciding with Odisha's completion of its statehood centenary. Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who oversees Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, launched this initiative at IIT Bhubaneshwar, highlighting the government's commitment to the 'Purvodaya' vision, which focuses on advancing development in eastern states. He noted the significant efforts undertaken by the Center to foster the startup ecosystem, contrasting it with Odisha's comparatively sluggish progress. Referring to the recent 'States Startup Ranking Framework' by DPIIT, the Minister emphasized Odisha's lag behind states like Gujarat in leveraging digital transformation and entrepreneurial energy, despite Odisha's abundance of resources, talent, and cultural heritage.
