Swiggy is merging its Mall offering, which previously experimented with selling non-grocery items such as footwear, apparel, electronics, and electric appliances, with its primary quick-commerce service, Instamart. This integration was announced in a blog post on Thursday. Currently operational only in select areas of Bengaluru near the company's headquarters, Swiggy Mall delivers these products within an hour. According to the blog post, Swiggy Instamart is already available in over 25 cities, and Swiggy Mall will expand to additional locations, starting with Bengaluru, in the coming months.
Former Amazon executive Dipak Krishnamani, who joined Swiggy in September of the previous year, heads Swiggy Mall and previously reported to cofounder Nandan Reddy. Now, Krishnamani will report to another cofounder, Phani Kishan, who oversees Instamart.
The latest update allows customers to explore a wide range of products across more than 35 categories, extending beyond groceries and home essentials, with delivery in minutes. This marks a significant milestone for the company.
