Over the past decade, there has been a significant transformation in the Indian startup ecosystem, with sectors like retail, enterprise applications, fintech, and logistics leading the growth, according to Tracxn Technologies. Despite facing challenges, Indian startups secured $8.4 billion in funding in 2023, compared to $25 billion in 2022. The country reached a milestone of 111 unicorns, with 20 of them being women-led startups. Notable additions to the unicorn club in 2023 were 'Incred' and 'Zepto.' The rise of soonicorns (potential unicorns) and minicorns (valued over $1 million) was observed in 2022. Bengaluru remained the top choice for startups, attracting $70.4 billion in funds between 2014 and 2023, followed by Delhi-NCR and Mumbai.
