Krishna Nagar, born in Jaipur and diagnosed with dwarfism at the age of two, overcame bullying and a height disadvantage to win a gold medal in para-badminton at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. Despite facing personal tragedies, he remains committed to defending his title at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. His journey began with a childhood dream to raise India’s flag high at the Paralympics, fulfilling the aspirations of his father, Sunil Nagar, a sportsman who couldn't pursue his own athletic career due to personal circumstances. Krishna made both his father and his country proud by becoming only the second Indian to win gold in badminton at the Paralympics.

As a child, Krishna was introduced to various sports by his father, who hoped it might aid in his growth. Krishna engaged in cricket, football, volleyball, and even attempted the long jump, believing that athletics could help him grow taller. Participating in sports not only helped him physically but also provided an escape from the taunts and bullying he faced due to his height of 4 feet 7 inches. The bullying continued into his college years and on the sports field, leading him to abandon his favorite sports and withdraw into himself.
