Ola Electric aims to compete with Hero’s Splendor, but electric bikes are different from electric scooters.

Ola Electric is aiming to compete with Hero's Splendor by introducing electric motorbikes, though the challenge is different from e-scooters. Despite the current lack of strong enthusiasm for electric vehicles, the company is encouraging consumers to place their confidence in its new electric bikes. Ola Electric is offering a booking option for just Rs 999 (approximately US$12), which allows customers to secure one of the new models unveiled on India’s Independence Day, August 15.

The company’s strategy has two key objectives. First, they want to gauge the level of interest among consumers in transitioning from traditional petrol-powered bikes to more eco-friendly electric alternatives. Second, they are ensuring that once the demand is clear, the motorbikes will be ready for delivery when the time comes.
