New Delhi hosted the fourth edition of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Startup Forum, emphasizing collaboration and innovation among startups from member states. The event attracted over 15 startups from the SCO region, providing them with a platform to exhibit their innovative products and services, fostering networking opportunities and serving as a source of inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs.
A notable feature of the event was a workshop on establishing seed funds, organized by Startup India, offering entrepreneurs valuable insights into setting up funds for early-stage startups. The session encouraged interactive participation, allowing participants to share experiences and learn from each other, enriching the startup ecosystem.
A significant outcome of the forum was the establishment of a Special Working Group (SWG) dedicated to startups and innovation, underscoring the commitment of all SCO Member States to collaborate and drive regional economic development. India, holding a permanent chair in the SCO, has played a leading role in formulating SWG regulations and will host the second meeting in November 2024.
India's commitment to enhancing innovation and collaboration was further demonstrated by announcing the hosting of the 5th SCO Startup Forum in January 2025. The SCO Startup Forum 4.0 in New Delhi highlighted the collective determination of SCO Member States to harness innovation for sustainable development and prosperity.
