Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Chairman N Chandrasekaran addressed the company's 29th annual general meeting (AGM), acknowledging the transformative impact of artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI on various sectors, foreseeing potential job displacements alongside increased productivity. Chandrasekaran emphasized the importance of reskilling employees to adapt to these changes. He explained that while certain roles may be automated, leading to job losses, other areas like data management will witness job creation due to AI advancements. Chandrasekaran highlighted the widespread influence of generative AI across industries, particularly in consumer-focused sectors such as finance, healthcare, and retail, where it enhances personalization and user experiences. Additionally, he noted the Tata Group's significant involvement in numerous generative AI projects, signaling a proactive approach towards embracing technological advancements.
