Ankura Yatra, a unique bus journey with a global scope, was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Rural Development Dr. Pemmasani Chandrasekhar at KL Deemed to be University in Vaddeswaram, Tadepalli mandal, Vijayawada. This initiative, organized by the International Startup Foundation (ISF), is designed to transform rural India by creating job opportunities, encouraging the establishment of startup enterprises, and generating wealth in rural areas. The government aims to provide employment for youth within their own villages, reducing the need for migration to cities.
The Ankura Yatra, scheduled from September 30 to October 3 across various locations in the State, offers a platform for startup founders, investors, and mentors to collaborate on innovative projects. Dr. JA Chowdary, the chairperson and convenor of the event, highlighted that the rural startup bus yatra was initiated by ISF to inspire and mentor aspiring entrepreneurs in rural India. The initiative is a joint effort involving NRIs, CEOs, CXOs, and investors with roots in Indian villages and towns. These leaders will actively engage with rural communities, offering guidance, mentorship, and support to emerging startups.
The pilot phase of Ankura Yatra will cover key locations in the State, including Visakhapatnam, Rajam, Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Amaravati, Kuppam, Tirupati, Anantapur, Kadapa, and Kurnool. Unlike many government-led programs, this initiative is entirely driven by industry leaders and investors, ensuring that startups receive practical insights and valuable connections essential for their growth.
