Jeevika Tyagi, the CEO and co-founder of Aastey, an athleisure startup, has

criticized Shark Tank India judge Namita Thapar for her remarks regarding the startup's marketing expenditure. Namita Thapar, who serves as the CEO of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, expressed her disinterest in investing during the episode "Celebrating Entrepreneurial Breakthroughs" after learning that Aastey had utilized ₹10 crore from investors primarily for marketing purposes. Jeevika responded to Namita's comments by posting a video on Instagram, alleging that Sony, the broadcasting network for Shark Tank, had edited portions of the episode titled "Is this financial indiscipline." According to Jeevika, the edited segment focused on the startup's expenditures related to inventory, business operations, and manpower costs.
