Homegrown Generative AI (GenAI) startup Devnagri announced on Thursday that it has secured an undisclosed amount in a pre-Series A funding round led by Inflection Point Ventures. Co-founded by Nakul Kundra and Himanshu Sharma, Devnagri specializes in contextualizing and personalizing content, integrating its technology seamlessly into both private and government infrastructures.
Mitesh Shah, Co-Founder of Inflection Point Ventures, highlighted the challenge of accurately translating the over 700 languages spoken in India, considering context and cultural nuances. Shah noted that Devnagri addresses these issues using AI-powered human translation.
Nakul Kundra mentioned that Devnagri is advancing towards providing enterprises and government departments with a private cloud infrastructure. This will allow them to maintain ownership of their content while continuously training their Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Small Language Models (SLM) with each customer's usage.
Inflection Point Ventures has invested over Rs 720 crore across more than 200 startups to date. The market opportunity for Devnagri in India is valued at $53 billion, growing at a CAGR of 6.7 percent.
