Here’s what’s prohibited under California's 18 (and growing) new AI regulations.

In September, California Governor Gavin Newsom reviewed 38 AI-related bills, including the controversial SB 1047, which was sent to him by the state legislature for final approval. On Sunday, he vetoed SB 1047, effectively halting the progress of the bill aimed at preventing AI-related disasters. However, he did sign more than a dozen other AI bills into law this month. These new laws tackle key concerns surrounding artificial intelligence, such as AI risks, deepfake nudes generated by AI, and Hollywood studios creating AI replicas of deceased performers.
