Goa is actively attracting new businesses to transform into a startup hub, expanding its focus beyond its renowned beaches.

The state government of Goa is actively promoting itself as a startup hub, aiming to attract founders and entrepreneurs. Their initiatives include setting up co-working spaces on beaches and heritage locations, creating sea hubs, transforming villages into digital villages, and establishing workstations in heritage sites. The goal is to make Goa one of the top 25 startup destinations in Asia by 2025. The state has already certified 214 startups and gained popularity during the pandemic as a remote working destination. Entrepreneurs, like Vasundhara Kanoria, appreciate Goa's budding startup ecosystem, places for events, and the healthy work-life balance it offers. The startup studio Build 3, based in Goa, has seen a significant increase in startup partners and aims to deploy additional funds. The government has introduced the Global Opportunities Aggregator initiative to facilitate remote collaboration and is seeking a digital nomad visa. Minister Rohan Khaunte emphasizes the upcoming sea hubs and the state's strong connectivity with other startup hubs, highlighting the focus on emerging technologies, research, and promoting opportunities for women. Additionally, efforts are underway to transform villages into digital hubs and enhance academic offerings to support the growth of the startup and technology ecosystem in Goa.
