In a bid to attract founders and entrepreneurs to establish their startups in Goa, the state government is devising plans to create sea hubs, convert villages into digital villages, and construct workstations in heritage locations. The state aspires to position Goa as one of the most favored startup destinations in India, aiming to secure a spot among the top 25 startup destinations in Asia by 2025. This initiative, announced by Maryam Farooqui on January 12, 2024, envisions transforming Goa into a thriving startup hub.
Goa is actively pursuing its goal of becoming a prominent startup hub, intending to introduce co-working spaces on beaches and heritage sites to promote work-ations in the post-Covid era. Having already certified 214 startups, the state became a preferred destination for many Indians during the pandemic's remote working trend. Now, with an eye on the future, Goa aims to build on its existing startup ecosystem and attract more entrepreneurs to establish their ventures in the region.
