Funding for pet startups has decreased.



Today, pet owners have an almost endless array of ways to spend money on their beloved animals. From luxurious day spas and organic meals to orthopedic beds, the options for pampering pets are extensive. As a result, spending on pets is at an all-time high. Last year, global expenditures on pet care exceeded $320 billion, and this figure is expected to approach $500 billion by 2030.

However, pet care startups are not receiving the same level of attention they once did. According to Crunchbase data, only about $500 million has been invested in roughly 50 pet and veterinary care startups globally this year. This trend suggests that 2024 is on pace to be the year with the lowest investment in the pet care sector in recent years, both in terms of the number of funding rounds and total investment
