Former Employee Steals Bengaluru CEO's Passport and U.S. Visa During Mass Layoffs

-

Saarthi AI's CEO, Vishwa Nath Jha, revealed that a former employee allegedly stole his passport, which contained a US visa, hampering his efforts to raise funds for the company. Although Jha denied claims of salary non-payment, he acknowledged that the company is facing financial difficulties. After laying off a significant number of employees and being accused of withholding salaries, Jha explained that investor pressure forced the company to reduce its workforce. While he refuted the accusations of non-payment as attempts to damage the company's reputation, some current and former employees confirmed they had not received their pending salaries following the layoffs. The company also disclosed that it had failed to deposit TDS for the past two fiscal years. Jha mentioned that Saarthi AI is striving to achieve operational cash flow positivity by Q2 of 2024 to support its current operations and employees. He also noted that the company is in discussions with investors to secure new funding to address its outstanding debts and liabilities.
