EaseMyTrip Expands into Electric Bus Manufacturing with Its New Subsidiary, Easy Green Mobility.

EaseMyTrip has entered the electric vehicle (EV) sector through its new subsidiary, Easy Green Mobility, aiming to manufacture electric buses. This move is part of the company's strategy to support sustainable mobility. Another EaseMyTrip subsidiary, YoloBus, will handle the operational aspects of the venture. In an exchange filing, EaseMyTrip revealed plans to invest INR 200 crore over 2-3 years for research, development, and setting up a manufacturing plant.With this significant investment, EaseMyTrip is positioning itself as a key player in India’s growing EV market, leveraging its expertise in travel and mobility. Following the announcement, the company's stock surged by 14.2 percent on Thursday, reaching ₹44.38 per share, indicating positive market sentiment.Earlier in January 2024, EaseMyTrip had suspended flight bookings to the Maldives after controversial remarks by Maldivian ministers against Prime Minister Modi during his visit to Lakshadweep, which triggered a boycott trend.
