Walt Disney Co. has selected three artificial intelligence-focused companies as part of its annual business incubator program, along with two others. This year's cohort includes AudioShake, which utilizes AI for music track mixing, ElevenLabs, specializing in text-to-speech conversion using AI, and Promethean AI, which aids in prototype design by mining digital archives. Disney's Accelerator program, running for a decade, has been instrumental in nurturing and investing in tech startups, with past successes like Epic Games. Collaborating closely with Disney staff, these startups often contribute products beneficial to the entertainment giant, such as the BB-8 toy droid introduced in 2015. Disney, headquartered in Burbank, California, announced the lineup for this year's program on Wednesday. Additionally, the selected companies include Nuro, focusing on autonomous delivery vehicles, and StatusPro, leveraging virtual reality for immersive sports experiences.
