In the latest edition of Delaware Money Moves, health and environmental sectors take the spotlight, with a notable focus on hydrogen-related developments. Delaware is making strides in areas such as precision medicine, fintech, manufacturing, higher education, and agriculture. Synnovation Therapeutics, a precision oncology startup at the Delaware Experimental Station's Innovation Space, secured the region's largest venture capital deal in Q4 2023, raising $69.9 million. Meanwhile, W.L. Gore and Associates, based in Newark, closed a deal in Seoul, Korea, with Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Corporation. The collaboration aims to develop advanced polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) for hydrogen fuel cell systems in electric vehicles, marking a significant step in making hydrogen-powered cars more accessible. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Michelle Augustine, leader of Gore's Clean Energy Business Group, expressed excitement about advancing the partnership and leveraging advanced PEM technology to enhance the performance and cost-effectiveness of fuel cell vehicles for consumers.
