The growing startup scene in and around Chandigarh is opening up opportunities for entrepreneurs of all ages, but creating a supportive environment for startups remains a work in progress. Anupama Anand, a local PhD scholar aiming to launch a startup in food processing, faces numerous challenges. From managing the finer details of setting up a business to finding like-minded individuals, there are many questions to be addressed. She is not alone in this struggle. The startup ecosystem in the tricity region is expanding, but establishing a nurturing environment is still a challenge.
"The first hurdle is finding people who share the same vision to build a team. Networking can be tough for someone just starting out," says Anand. This is where Aseem Hanspal, founder of Entrepreneurs of Interest, a platform that connects aspiring entrepreneurs, comes into play. His goal is clear: to create a diverse, thriving ecosystem that supports entrepreneurs in learning, networking, and growing together.
