At the Times Now Summit 2024, OYO Founder Ritesh Agarwal emphasizes a notable shift in entrepreneurship over the last decade, indicating that entrepreneurs once mainly came from large cities.

During a discussion with Mihir Bhatt, Managing Editor of Times Network on Day 2 of the Times Now Summit 2024, Ritesh Agarwal, CEO and Founder of OYO Rooms Group, drew parallels between India's cricket team and entrepreneurship to underscore a notable transformation in recent years. He pointed out that previously, entrepreneurs predominantly originated from major cities like Mumbai and Delhi, but now, individuals from smaller towns and villages are also stepping into the entrepreneurial arena with aspirations of building globally dominant enterprises. This shift reflects a broader pool of talent and ambition.

Agarwal emphasized that youth from these smaller locales are not merely aiming for local success; instead, they envision creating enterprises that can compete on a global scale. This shift in ambition, he asserted, contributes to India's unstoppable potential.

Highlighting Amazon's consistent growth over the years, Agarwal stressed the importance of sustained growth for India's economic aspirations. He argued that achieving the projected $55 trillion economy by 2047 necessitates consistent annual growth rates of 7-10%, rather than sporadic bursts of high growth.

Agarwal further illustrated his point by drawing parallels with India's cricketing journey, highlighting the rise of cricketers from smaller towns and villages to prominence in the international arena. He noted that similarly, entrepreneurs are now emerging from lesser-known cities and towns, fueled by a desire to build globally influential enterprises.

He concluded by stating that this emerging trend embodies the essence of 'India Unstoppable,' reflecting the country's potential for sustained growth and global prominence in various fields, including entrepreneurship.
