A startup nurtured at IIT Mandi has developed an AI-powered yoga mat, which was showcased to Union Ministers at this location. The Ministry of Science and Technology introduced the 'YogiFi' mat to distinguished ministers, including External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Railways, I&B and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
The ministry highlighted that the use of AI and Computer Vision (CV) technologies in the mat can revolutionize home yoga practice, offering a comfortable experience. The mat features an integrated sensor layer that monitors practitioners' postures and provides real-time corrections for incorrect poses.
The ministry emphasized various benefits of this fully indigenous product under the 'Make in India' initiative. These benefits include basic yoga asana instruction, engaging yoga sessions, instant posture feedback, and personalized guidance available globally at any time.
The YogiFi Smart Mat also includes a companion app that offers customized yoga routines and classes. The app syncs with the mat, enabling users to follow virtual instructors who guide them through various yoga sequences. The mat's sensors detect movements and provide immediate feedback on form, ensuring correct pose execution.
The YogiFi Smart Mat is more than just a yoga mat; it is a comprehensive yoga ecosystem that integrates seamlessly with smart home devices, creating an ideal environment for yoga practice. With advanced technology, real-time feedback, and personalized routines, this smart mat transforms the yoga experience, making it more accessible, enjoyable, and effective for practitioners of all levels.
