In a troubling incident at Srinagar airport, a couple from Thane faced difficulties when they were denied boarding on a flight despite having boarding passes. The airline, SpiceJet, claimed that the PNR numbers on their boarding passes did not match their records. Prakash Nilani, 53, and his wife Jaya, 50, had checked in their luggage and received boarding passes from the airline counter. They had been on vacation in Srinagar but decided to return to Mumbai early due to urgent commitments, booking tickets on SpiceJet flight SG 510, scheduled to depart at 6:40 p.m. Despite having boarding passes and checked luggage, they were stopped by SpiceJet staff. "They said our PNR numbers didn't match, but couldn't explain how our luggage was checked in and boarding passes issued," Nilani told FPJ over the phone. This incident highlights management issues within SpiceJet Airlines.
